Three public demo-talks at the Belmont Library in April and May met with great interest and appreciation for the mysterious Asian exercise, that heretofore, was misunderstood to be an activity for “the old, for Asians, and for slow moving people!” At least that is what members of the audience offered with humorous candidacy, but their first hand experience with the tried and true moves gave many a persuasive push to sign up for classes. Our goal was to educate folks about Tai Chi, and promote it from its quiet presence among current exercises, but it was doubly exciting to see people recognize it for its wellness perks. Due to popular demand, Belmont Parks & Recreation are expanding classes to include a Friday morning Tai class for women, and a Mommy & Me class for a parent/child.
