An Invitation to Tai Chi Wellness

“World peace comes from world health. When you feel better, you are kinder, friendlier, more cooperative. It is that simple.” – Master Peng

Those were the words of my father Tai Chi Master Peng who devoted his life to promoting peace as a diplomat from China and then as a Tai Chi teacher. They are my words now to honor his philosophy and fulfill his legacy. I am his daughter/his student/his disciple. He gave me the gift of this wholistic exercise to share and create as many healthy people as possible.

You are warmly invited to learn a series of fascinating steps culled from nature’s finest movements. This gentle exercise brings life enhancing benefits to fortify us against stress, fatigue, depression, imbalance, brain fog. Classes are fun and learner-friendly. No athletic skills or prior experience needed. Students will enjoy graduating to more moves and complexity.

What is Tai Chi?

Tai Chi Chuan (its long formal name) translates as “Supreme Ultimate Fist.” For students enjoying this ancient Asian exercise, it simply means to reach the highest with your optimal power. That may sound very challenging, but what a wonderful, no nonsense goal! The exercise is a sequence of steps culled from nature’s best movements to awaken the Qi — “intrinsic energy” in you. Our bodies have not changed that much over the centuries, but our connection to that vital force has. It has diminished, and so unnecessarily.

Because the exercise has been viewed as “esoteric” – something specialized or foreign – by the Western World, Tai Chi Chuan has remained an untapped source of health for several years until recently. Mixed into the various martial artists, it may have been an ancient Chinese secret, but the most obvious question should be: “Why are MILLIONS practicing it? And for centuries?” If you are still unsure about whether Tai Chi is for you, check out the popular misconceptions that has kept many from exploring its great benefits.
